One Day in China Town

The subject of my photo essay is about a day in China Town. I went to London China Town and visited for the day a few weeks ago.

The shots are divided into two sections: exterior shots and kitchen shots.

For the exterior shots, I attempted to focus on shop windows. As I found that each shops have their own shop window, and most of visitors walked attracted by the amazing food displays. Apart from the tasty food, the shop window is a special visual point that could capture many spontaneous moments. It is a stimulating process as a viewer to watch them and it could make my images tell more of a story.

What is more, a shop window can give such life to its subjects, with reflections, vivid lighting and the shadows of strangers.

The second part is mainly about the secrets of the Chinese kitchen. I was lucky to be allowed to get into the kitchen to take photos and interact with the chef.

Many people are curious about how their chinese meals are made, and by being able to interact with the Chef and watch what he was doing, I was able to gain a first hand experience into the process of making the meals.
